One of the most anticipated showings at India Beach Fashion Week which stirred unbridled enthusiasm at the poolside of Lalit Golf and Spa Resort as Bangalore-based band ‘Best Kept Secrets’ had us moving to its rendition of ‘Pretty Woman’, Manoviraj Khosla’s collection was a stylish light-in-spirit cruise line.

The designer, whose personality is the spirit of his shows, combined simplicity with star-truffled style; bikinis with sheer covers, ponchos and tasselled capes, boleros worn with minis, backless tie-up dress, printed dresses and jumpsuit with cascading neck frills was instantly what everyone wanted to be wearing—or wished we had in our closet for the steamy summer days ahead! Sparking desire, the men’s wear crafted from linen and velvet, was also cut with a second-skin rigor. Subtle luxury was the rule in sherwanis and bandhgala jackets with laser-cut technique, summer suits in a kaleidoscope of juicy shades and capris accessorised with duffel bags; you couldn’t have found a man by the poolside who didn’t want to look like one of the models, at least for the night! The showing closed with Manoviraj Khosla doing a jig with the band, with his guests joining in.
